This book describes what went on around Anzac Cove on 25 April, 1915; from before the early morning landings until the close of action on that first night. It covers the reasons why Australia was involved, how the Australian soldiers arrived at Anzac Cove, and how they climbed to higher ground after the landings. It finishes with a summary of what the Anzacs achieved on that first day.
