Works published through Glasstree may be assigned a DOI. Glasstree authors receive access to Kudos, which
a dashboard, allowing authors to monitor all relevant bibliometrics (Book Citation Index, Altmetrics, Impact Factor, etc.)
as tools and instructions to promote your content.
What is the profit distribution for authors?
Glasstree pays the author 70% of the profits from the sale of their work. The industry average is about
9% with many publishers paying even less.
What about publishing costs?
Glasstree provides authors with the opportunity to create
and publish private hardcopy books free with a Glasstree account.
Privately published books are available for purchase through your
Glasstree account, but will not appear in the Glasstree Bookstore.
If you want to offer your book for sale as a print book, ebook, or
Open Access publication, there are moderate fees to cover the costs
associated with publishing, distributing, and hosting.

What formats does Glasstree publish?
Glasstree, in its initial phase, will publish books - monographs, thesis, series, serials, textbooks, etc.
soft and hardcover, with a range of paper types, binding types, etc.), and ebooks (including Open Access ebooks). Future

How quickly will Glasstree publish my content and what experience does it have?
Glasstree is the new academic publishing subdivision of Lulu Press,
which has published in excess of 2 million books since 2004, of which 38% contain knowledge based content. We can publish
in 15 minutes and due to our integrated, cloud-based Printing On Demand systems we can print and distribute books within a
days to a few weeks, depending on the project complexity and the pre-production level of preparation. Publishing fees and
manufacturing prices are extremely low by industry standards thereby allowing academics more freedom to set their prices.
What about publishing services?
Our partner, Glassleaf Academic Services, offers peer review, all forms of
editing, illustration and design, translation, and professional marketing services. These
services are designed for the academic community and are offered at affordable prices.
Where is Glasstree located?
Glasstree is a 'dot.com' digital company with its head office near Raleigh N.C. and offices in Belgium and
Netherlands. Our integrated print-on-demand printers are located in the USA, Canada, the UK, The Netherlands, France and
Australia. We have plans to expand this network in the coming years.
What about discoverability?
Glasstree content is classified according to a taxonomy provided by the National Academy of Sciences. Peer
status is classified (double blind, single blind, collaborative, Open, none, etc.). Product type is classified (monograph,
series, thesis, textbook, etc.). Open Access content is classified. Content can also be assigned a Digital Object
to facilitate bibliometric tracking.
What about licensing?
We have been developing Glasstree in collaboration with the Creative Commons. Therefore, all C.C. licensing
will be available as well as the standard licensing options. Glasstree also provides free ISBNs, if required.
What about distribution?
Authors can choose to distribute their book via the Glasstree bookstore, or select alternative distribution
(via Ingram/LightningSource). Glasstree can also ship directly to college bookstores (via NACSCORP and B&N college
once a book has been adopted by a university and bookstore.
